In recent years, the video surveillance system gets rapid development and becomes more popular, and it is used in many fields. With the development of network and digital technology, the video surveillance system is changing from an analog system to a network digital system. So the quality of the video and the stability of system have been improved, and the digital system has the great anti-interference capacity and the digital video can be stored and transmitted. This thesis presents the design and implementation of a web digital vidicon. The web digital vidicon is an important part of the digital video surveillance system, which is based on the technology of embedded system, and it implements video capture, compression and network transmission. This design adopts 32bit high-performance MCU S3C4510B of Samsung as the control chip, and adopts the WIS chip GO7007SB to realize the hard compression of video picture. The GO7007SB can support the format of MPEG-1, MEPG-2, MEPG-4 and H.263. These two chips are connected through the interface of HPI. The real time embedded operating system VxWorks is adopted in this design, which is provided by Wind River Corporation. On this OS I have implement the driver of the GO7007SB chip. There are two main parts to describe in this thesis. In the hardware part, I introduce the embedded system firstly, and every functional model is discussed detailedly. The connection of S3C4510B and GO7007SB is the key design of this system. In the software part, I describe the characteristics of VxWorks and the driver on this OS. Finally I accomplish the migration of the embedded system VxWorks, implement the driver of GO7007SB processor on VxWorks, and network transmission.
