The MPEG-4 System Based USB2.0 Interface was video capture system based on usb2.0 protocal and MPEG-4 standard, This System adopt the advanced usb interface and MPEG-4 encode technology in the world, thus this system have the most flexible interface and the highest compress ratio. This system is the best choice of security defence field and image capture field, having a broad prospectThis article introduced the system design, hardware circuit design and PCB layout produce. In the beginning of the research, I read a mount of datasheets, and compare several diffrent MPEG-4 application specific chip. The final choice is InTime Company's IME6400 encoder chip for this system design. I designed the circuit using OrCAD software after analyzing the interface timing.and then disigned the PCB layout using Cadence software, and more, analyzed the high-speed circuit board design and transmission line theory.By the research of the system design, I mastered how to use the Cadence tool, and unsuccessfully designed 4 layer's high-speed layout; and mastered the digital circuit design, familiar with the FPGA design flow and VHDL, Verilog language. Most important of all, the image capture system what the article discussed having the sky-high practicality, and could apply to manufacture.
