The technology of image collecting and processing, which is widely involved in industry measurement, medical equipment, military and consuming electronics products areas, has a very important role in current information society. In general application, image collecting and processing system is implemented in a"soft"way based on Computer, which expends resource heavily. Although some others overcome this problem with a hardware core, there are still a lot of inherent shortcomings in those schemes, such as pool expansibility,incapacity for upgrading.….. Therefore, a new design based on USB2.0 and DSP technology is introduced in this paper, which gets over these defects and has a bright foreground in application as validation of video arithmetic in research institute, or function as a debug plat for video product development.In this paper, an overview of general wise on hardware implement of image processing system is presented firstly, then our design mainly construced with TI's TMS320C6211 DSP core and EZ-USB FX2 chip is introduced. The details about data colllecting and data flow between interrelated memorys are discussed in chapter 2. In order to keep coherent in context, depiction about USB protocol and development lies on latter chapters. Chapter 3 abstracts USB protocol in a device developer's view;On an analyze of the features of C6211 and FX2, we realize USB interface by an interconnection between FX2'GPIF and the HPI of C6211, timing designs about this interface is narrated in chapter4; In chapter 5, after the presentation of FX2 firmware frame,firmware development of this system is discussed in details,such as initialization of SAA7113H,bootloading of DSP, receiving image data from DSP.…. In this system, we take full advantage of the MCU embedded in FX2.A sum-up about the development process is arranged at the end of this paper.
