Having advantages such as fast transmission speed, low power dissipation, true plug-and-play operation, easy attachment, Universal Series Bus (USB) has gained wide acceptance as the connection method of choice for peripherial.At the first part of this paper, the principle, basic composition and application of infrared thermal imaging system were introduced, and the characteristics of different data buses today were retrospected briefly. In the second chapter, USB2.0 protocol was explained in detail from its structure, layers, physical-linking, powermanagement, transaction process -ing and error controlling system, etc. In the third chapter, the whole solution of the nonrefrigerated infrared focal plane array thermal camera system was given. Later, the structure, characteristics and functions of the EZ-USB FX2 CY7C68013 were discussed specially, and USB2.0 interface circuit designs were realized with FX2. Additionally, the theory and PCB figures of the interface circuit were provided. In the last chapter, the frame of USB interface chip firmware was discussed particularly, and the firmware source code were written with C language. The firmware debugging tool and downloaded method were introduced finally.
