Research Of The Network Transmission Efficiency Under The Content Negotiation Mechanism

This paper makes relatively deep discussion in the field of adaptive content delivery. By using content negotiation mechanism and InfoPyramid model, this paper makes some improvement to the traditional proxy, implements adaptive content delivery, enhances the network transmission efficiency.Firstly, this paper turns back to the achievement in the field of adaptive content delivery. It lists the basic research in the areas of data format, markup language, network protocol, etc. Moreover, it lists the requirement and research areas of proxies, and points out that some modifications are necessary to proxies because of the changing requirement.On the basis of these research works, this paper makes detailed explanation to the content negotiation mechanism and InfoPyramid model. Although content negotiation mechanism addresses the problem of different preference between the server and the client by negotiating on the quality of service, it does not resolve the problem of the transformation between different versions. However, InfoPyramid model considers all the media types to be the whole. Therefore, the combination of them two is one of the best resolutions to implement adaptive content delivery. By some analysis, proxy is treated to be the best place for implementing the combination.
