Based on the 3G shortwave communication network protocol, MIL-STD-188-141B, the high speed data transmission technology in HF channels is discussed in this paper. The physical layer sending and receiving projects of high speed data transmitting burst waveform BW2 are designed and realized. As typical time-varying channels, HF channels do great harm to the data transmitting. High speed communication systems are constrained by the non-ideal characteristics of HF channels such as bandwidths restrictions, signal fading and multi-path dispersion. To overcome those obstacles, some digital signal processing technology can be adopted. Firstly, a compare is made between LMS algorithm and RLS algorithm. According to the characteristics of the BW2 frame format, the non-liner block data directed estimation technology and the adaptive equalization technology with RLS algorithm are presented in this paper. The strongpoint and shortcoming of those methods are showed when applied to receive BW2 frame.Based on those key technologies, the whole sending and receiving project's performance is simulated in MATLAB, the simulation results have validated the project's reliability. Then, the project is programmed in the DSP hardware platform.
