The Study Of Multicast Routing Protocol In Wireless Mesh Network

Wireless Mesh Network (WMN) which is a new type of wireless communication network, with self-organizing and self-healing features, is also a high-capacity, high-speed, distributed multi-hop wireless broadband network. This paper mainly applies to the multicast routing algorithm in Wireless Mesh Network.WMN combines the advantages of military Ad hoc network and traditional WLAN (Wireless Local Network), which makes it easier to integrate into the mainstream network——Internet. By studing a variety of multicast routing protocols of Ad hoc, ODMRP which has the more superior performance to others was selected as the reference protocol. But the protocol also has a main weakness——high overhead. This feature is a crucial contributing factor to the saclability of multicast routing for mobile networks. In this paper we propose several schemes to improve this disadvantage and retain all of the advantages of the ODMRP. The results are experimentally verified. It was proved as a good performance.
