Mobile Ad-Hoc Networks (MANETs) is a decentralized network of autonomous mobile nodes which is able to communicate with each other over wireless links. It comes together when and where needed, as a collection of wireless hosts, without relying on any assistance from an existing network infrastructure such as base stations or routers. Therefore, the wireless hosts are designed to serve as relays (routers) and assist each other in delivering data packets if necessary. Due to the mobility of the nodes, the topology of the network may rapidly be changing, making it impossible to use conventional routing tables maintained at fixed points (routers). Instead, each node is required to determine the best route to a given destination node by itself. In a typical mobile ad hoc network (e.g., a mobile conference or an emergency and rescue mission), wireless hosts work together in groups to carry out a given task. Therefore, multicasting plays an important role in ad hoc networks. Routing and multicasting protocols in ad hoc networks are faced with the challenge of delivering data to destinations through multihop routes in the presence of node's movement and topology's change. An important question is how the delivery of the packets is secure? And what do you know others have done? This paper describes and analyzes the On-Demand Multicast Routing Protocol (ODMRP) for Mobile Ad-Hoc Networks (MANETs). ODMRP is a mesh-based, rather than a conventional tree-based, only a subset of nodes forwards the multicast packets via scoped flooding. It applies on-demand procedures to dynamically build routes and maintain multicast group membership. ODMRP is well suited for ad hoc wireless networks with mobile hosts where bandwidth is limited, topology changes frequently, and power is constrained. Nowadays, Ad Hoc wireless network is an ideal technology to establish an instant communication infrastructure, few have take into account the security. This paper simulates the proposed new protocol by GloMoSim. Global Mobile Information System Simulator (GloMoSim) is a scalable simulation environment for...
