In the whole plotter system, the image information is generally stored in the mainframe terminal. These images are needed by the plotter to map out the image. And the link of the mainframe and plotter is the interface unit of plotter. It is responsible for the reception of the image data processed by mainframe applications and sent these image data and control orders to plotter controller to complete image printing work. Therefore, the interface unit of plotter is an important component of the plotters. It directly decided the transmission efficiency of the entire plotter.Because of a greater amount of image data to the printer, in order to ensure the continuity of the printing process and avoid that data is not ready and the printer wait for the result, the printer interface modules must to be considered. This paper is on the analysis of the composition and structure on the basis of principle. For against the previous design of Large Format Inkjet Plotter that printing and receive mainframe data can not be in parallel, the paper is to table a improvement program based on the double cache of the Large Format Color Ink Jet Plotter Interface Unit. And it described the details of the hardware and software design.The completion of a major part of the hardware design is USB interface design based on the CY7C68013 and Ethernet interface design based on the AT91RM9200, in particular the double cache of data receiving system is achieved, and ensure the coordination of the two interfaces. Make the receiving data and print data is in a parallel working. The entire control timing is realized by Verilog HDL and CPLD.The software design is including firmware and the USB Driver procedure. In firmware design, completed the firmware design of slave FIFO mode of CY7C68013USB and the Ethernet interface based on AT91RM9200 . Driver in the design, First introduced EZ-USB GDP development model, and then presents the driver of the system design process.
