There are many different methods for distance measuring, and the laser range finder, as a technology for precision measurement, is widely used in the military field and the civil field in which high accuracy is needed.Among the available range measurement methods, the phase-shift laser range finder is the most potential technique owing to its compactness, easily data processing, and the measurement accuracy to be independent on the measured distance.In this paper, the major tasks are as follows:The principle of phase laser range finder is discussed. A practical range finder system is designed.The system is divided into three parts based on their functions. The circuits of these three parts are designed and tested separately. And the computing programs in Micro Control Unit are made and debugged.The digital phase detecting circuit is designed based on Complex Programmable Logic Device and Micro-Control Unit All C programs used in the Micro Control Unit are finished, and it is shown that the programs is correct and effective.In the laser detecting part, an operation amplifier is used as the core component. This amplifier unit can separates and amplifies the two channel signals with different frequency. The Experimental results show that the signal gain is more than 100.
