With the rapid development of semiconductor laser, electronics, digital signal processing, precision machinery, and other areas'technology, laser range finder are developing toward the high-precision, portable, high-speed and digital direction of progress. Its characteristics of high-precision, ne design of sine wave modulation signal generating circuit. The reception of the ranging signal, its amplification and mixing are also analysed. In addition, the noise of the detector and the system ranging performance are analyzed. This paper used the high-precision time intervaon-contact type leads to its widely used. Pulse laser range finder is mainly used for long-distance laser ranging measurements, but its accuracy is not high. Since high-frequency digital phase technology replaced traditional way of phasing, phase-type laser range finder is more suitable for short range high-precision measurements.In this paper, several common laser ranging technology and its characteristics has been introduced. The phase difference frequency laser ranging method has been introduced in the overall design, and PLL frequency synthesizer is used in thl measurement chip in the phase measurement system, which greatly improved the measurement accuracy. In conclusion, this thesis provide a hardware platform for the system design and theoretical analyze of the laser range finder.
