Laser Distance Meter is an effective method used to measuring the distance which is can not reach or inconvenient to reach by human.We can get the distance accurately though calculating the phase changes or time delay of the modulated laser waves.Hand-held Laser Distance Meter has many advantages such as light weight, portable to use, low cost,is a kind of ideal instrument in the short-range distance measuring equipment.It is widely used in home decoration,construction decoration, real estate surveying and measurement industry and other areas.This thesis is based on actual project:research on a hand-held Laser Distance Meter, measuring range0.3-50m, measurement accuracy of±3mm, with some extra functions such as area and volume calculation, angle calculation and historical data storage.A hand-held Laser Distance Meter system design hardware is described in this article, including signal module, signal receiver amplifier module, signal operation processing module. This thesis in-depth study a high-precision digital phase measurement algorithm, based on all-phase spectrum analysis.We proved the superiority of the algorithm by simulation.After completion of the algorithm, the algorithm is programed in hardware systems.The test results show that the measurement accuracy can meet the design goals.We also introduce a new calibration method for this Laser Distance Meter and use this method on the prototype. The calibration proved that this Laser Distance Meter can calculate the target distance accurately,the measurement range is0.2-50m, indication error nearly±3mm.Laser Distance Meter has a simple hardware structure, the characteristics of low-cost, easy to operate, with good market prospects and promotional value.
