The phase-shift laser rangefinder is a set of high-precision measuring instruments with laser modulation technology, optical technology, photoelectric detection, signal processing technology, microcomputer technology and so on. At the same time, it is widely used in industrial monitoring and controlling, mining, ports, construction, automotive and other areas. Because of its high precision, fast working, lightweight and simple operation, , it is favored by people in the current ranging market.This paper first describes development overview in laser rangefinder at home and abroad, and the principle of phase-shift laser rangefinder in detail. Secondly, reception, amplification and mixing of ranging signal are studied. Then the photodetector amplifying circuit and the frequency mixing circuit are designed and simulated by Multisim simulation software. Meanwhile, high-precision time interval measurement chip TDC-GP1 is used in measuring-phase system. This application greatly improves the measurement accuracy.
