The paper regards MG400/930 shearer provided by Xi'an Coal Mining Machinery Plant as research object.Based on the fieldbus technique, embedded systems technique and the configuration technique, the paper realizes the design of the operation monitoring system which is suitable for MG400/930 shearer. The system is used to display the working condition ,save data and remote control the shearer. The system adopts the idea of modularization design, which includes the analog acquisition module, controlling module, communication module and display module. It uses C8051F040 as its testing and controlling center, which has abundant hardware resource. C8051F040 integrates CAN controller, analogy and digital functions. The designing of electric circuits are easier by using the same MCU.Using trusty communication protocols, the system can meet the requirements of high dependability. The software includes signals acquisition of analog and digital, communication between MCU,FX2N PLC and ACS800 converter. The monitoring system is configurated with MCGS software. There being many disturbance elements in the control system, some anti-disturbance methods are applied in the hardware and software.Acquisition of current and temperature with high precision, coding and transformation has been realized by the analog acquisition module. The controlling module realizes the remote control and local control function.Data exchange between PLC,Converter and CAN bus has been realized by the communication module ,which has been designed to use MCU+MAX488.Result of practical operation manifests the system can satisfy the demands of manufacturers and users. The system has advantages of reliable operation, good real-time capability, simple structure.
