Ecological Research Data Management Based On The Metadata

In this paper, the features of ecological data were analyzed, and the tactics of ecological data share management, the standard of ecological metadata, and the design of ecological data management system based on the ecological metadata were studied. The main results are:1. The scientific data share management is the requirement of social development.The scientific research demand is the driving force of data share management. The intrinsic natures of data, data scientific, economical and social values, and the law of investment and production are the theoretical foundations of data share. The data share management is sole way to carry out the maximum benefit of scientific data, and the technology of metadata is an effective way to manage the scientific data.2. The features of ecological research data and dataset.The mult-composed, dense and compound features of ecological research data must be considered to build the management system of ecological data. The dataset is the basic unit to manage data based on the metadata. The three kinds of dataset were classified according to difference of data construction, management system, and describing objects, which are datasets of relation, space, and files types. The concept of dataset size and the relationships among dataset, data entity, metadata are the theoretical guides to classify the dataset.3. The scheme of data classification and shareA benefit balance point among the data providers, managers, and users was found, while the tactics and scheme of data share management was raised in the current stages, which can control the visited data by different users, protect the benefit of data providers, and provide an effective pathway for data share.4. The standard of metadataBased on the frame of metadata layering model, the methods of collecting standard and assimilation were used to build the metadata standard for dataset of files and related core terms of metadata. Meanwhile, the general methods and steps for building the metadata were induced.5. The design of data base management system for the data collection of filesThe database management system for the dataset of files was designed and developed. The system function mainly includes, according to different purposes of users, register and log in of users, data search, data download, data announcement, user management, and data examination.
