In traditional teaching, teachers can communicate with students flexibly, and can regulate their teaching contents and methods to meet the needs of students at any time. In recent years, the exploitation of network in teaching is growing vapidly, However, despite the advantage of liberation in time and space, network teaching is still at its low level, and many Network Teaching System, only pay too much attention to spread know ledge. Therefore, it is worth researching that in what way the merits of network and traditional teaching can be well combined with each other to satisfy the requirements of individual learners better.Besides a detailed illustration of the system's theory basis, design ideas, and software realization, technology, the author has also made the following explorations: firstly, considering the personality discrepancies of individual learners, design different media resources to show the same teaching content; secondly, according to Neil Fleming's VARK graph, which divides study style into four categories, namely Visual, Audio, Read/Write, and Kinesthetic, provide different media resources to learners that fall into one of the four above mentioned categories; thirdly, try guiding learners by offering them some study strategies, to help them voise their study efficienty, and to establish data bank to provide data support for some possible future researches. The system employs J2EE four-tier based structures including Brower, Web Server, Application Server, and DB Server. The application of the multi-tier structure enables the system to have distinguished qualities of flexibility, currency and compatibility, with each tier concentrating on its specific role and function. The system can provide a more intellectualized, more convient and highly efficient network learning environment for learners.
