Vision information is almost 80 percent of all the information received by human. Image sensors may expand human's vision broad. More and more image sensors are applied to scientific research, manufacture and our daily life. The main types of image sensors are CCD sensors, CMOS sensors, CIS sensors and thermoelectric sensors, in which, CCD sensors are widely applied to fields of high accuracy measurement, image analysis, spectrum detection and so on with their remarkable performance.In this thesis, CCD image sensors, digital camera and image data acquisition cards have been introduced briefly and the application technique of CCD has been studied. An image acquisition system based on TCD1209, a linear CCD sensor, has been developed to acquire and process image data.The main contents of this thesis are listed as following:1. Illumination applied to image system has been discussed.2. The principle of linear CCD sensor TCD1209D has been introduced in detail and its driver circuit has been designed and implemented by using CPLD.3. An A/D acquisition card has been designed and the interface method such as EPP, USB and PCI has been discussed.4. The hardware and software of an 8bit, A/D acquisition card with EPP parallel interface have been established.5. An image data collective system based on USB controller by using CYPRESS FX2 chip has been built up. And the USB driver system has been developed.6. A fast algorithm based on gray-morphology has been proposed and applied to enhance and detect the defects on the printing film.
