| In recent years, due to the new requirements to better coordination and control of the time, cost, quality and human resources in the entire product development process, and the advances in the theory and the technology of project management (PM), a lot of enterprises put more importance on the project management functions in the product data management (PDM) systems. The traditional project management research mainly concentrates in its internal knowledge system, while the main objective in a PDM system is to manage product data, there is a lack of effective integration between the project management technology and product data management systems. However, PDM systems can provide an integration framework, this can be a new way forward in the effort to integrate project management functions into product data management systems.This article studied Tiangong PDM system from a project management view. It described the project management tools and the project process control technologies. A PDM system with integrated project management functions provides a more comprehensive solution for the enterprise. In the software development process, according to the requirement of the product data management in the enterprise, with the aid of the computer technology, the communication and network technology as well as the database technology, using the structural and object-oriented design method, the author designed the project management module in the PDM system, including system structural design, functional design and model design.This paper mainly launches the research and the discussion in the following aspect:1. A summary of the research and development achievements of the product data management system and the project management technology.2. A comprehensive description of the basic theory in the project management, the connotation of project management from many aspects, followed by an analysis of the project management and the PDM platform integration questions.3. Based on the PDM system structure and the workflow theory, the author proposed a project management module supported by workflow technology in the PDM, implemented the project management functions in a PDM system. The functional design and some implementation details were resented. |
