With the development of computer technology and the coming of the post-pc era, the embedded system has already widely used on household applications, industrial control, national defence science and technology etc. It grows the most rapidly in the IT industry.GT2000 is ARCA's General/Network series SoC which addresses the specific requirements for information terminal and consumer electronics products.A high performance and lower power Arca2 CPU Core is integrated into this SoC.It's power consumption is 360mW when the CUP works at 400MHz.GT2000 uses Arca Instruction Set Architecture(Arca ISA) which designed by ARCA Technology Corporation.The purpose of this design is to investigate the interface circuit of arca GT2000 processor in data collection application and to be familiar with software development condition. A mini brassboard was designed with Orcad Capture including GT2000 , flash, SRAM, RS232, A/D,D/A, matrix keyboard and digital LED. The Printed Circuit Board (PCB) is designed with PowerPCB.Cross compiling software was used to debug the brassboard. The brassboard is a basis used in the industrial control, national defence science and technology.Linux is an opensource operating system which becomed more and more mature since 1990s. Linux was used as the software in this design. It is described how to embed and how to clipp Linux for a brassboard in this thesis.
