It is a hotspot research subject that the application and development of embedded system today. As one of the most important source codes,it has opened software times, Linux is used frequently in the real-time controlling field with advantages as follows: kernel source codes opened, stable performances, compatibility with UNIX, applicable for multiple processors, great network capabilities, high security and customized kernel.The ship motion control system is designed in the paper, which based on embedded Linux used for shipmotion simulation platform.And the data is transmitted by CAN bus. Firstly, the scheme of ship motion controlling system is based of PCM-9340 and embedded Linux is described. Secondly, we should transplant embedded Linux operating system on PCM-9340, Linux kernel reducing, file system reducing and the choice of bootloader etc is analyzed. Thirdly, the program method of char device driver on Linux is researched in this paper with finishing CAN device driver. Finally, it is mentioned with the development of software for Qt/Embedded series interface, and the functional modules and human-computer interface in embedded system is developed by the Qt/Embedded.This paper researches the ship motion controller with the CAN bus and the simulation platform for communication. The result is testified that the system has the good point such as friendly man-machine conversation interface, easily using, reliable communication, high reliability. We can also get the achievement that the communications speed is improved, it also indicates the validity and application value of the research result.
