Wireless LAN is the outcome of the development of computer and communication technologies, and an important branch of wireless network technologies. Medium access control scheme play a key role in WLAN, and its performance decide the performance of whole WLAN.In this paper, the concept of wireless LAN and related technologies and standards, especially IEEE 802.11 protocols and security wireless LAN, are presented firstly. IEEE 802.11e protocol ,which improve the capability of MAC layer, is briefly introduced. Then, it describes the characteristic of hardware of development platform, function and transplant method of BSP and embedded Linux operating system which we used in platform. The emphasis of our work is improvement of real-time ability of embedded Linux. This paper present some successful improvement schemes of real-time on base of research of embedded Linux's characteristic.Furthermore, the software means of MAC function, which accord with IEEE 802.11 standards, is given. On the implement course, we adopted the module design, which can reduce difficulty .At the end of paper, the method of developing application programs on this platform and testing of MAC layer software implement are introduced. Meanwhile, the sum-up of our accomplished work, and the further work is also introduced.
