When the 3G time is coming, the life and work of people will be more convenient and luxuriant. The standard of the 3G technology has been ripe. There are successful examples in Japan and the Occident. 3G has not been applied in our country for some reason. It is inevitable that the 3G technology is applied, so it is a realistic thing that the explore and study of the service system based on 3G.The service of ordering multimedia programme based on 3G network can satisfy the individuation requirement farthest. The customizing multimedia services include video, audio and chart-article, which can be chosen by the users according to their requirements, and the server provides the corresponding service. The video information is different from the words and the guide's explanation, it can make intuitionistic impression, in addition, there are the necessary explanations, therefore, it can make deep impression. If using the system, users will know the scene comprehensively, obtain the information that they want to know, and enjoy themselves.In fact, China Mobile and China Unicom are using the data transmittability of the 2.5G network, such as GPRS, CDMA2000 1X, to carry the section of application.Up to now, there are many navigation system products in market, which help people orient and tour. But there is not the product that can introduce the scene, so the scene must be introduced by guides. The Tourist Self-help System supplies this gap. This system, based on IMS network, can introduce the scene to the users by the ways of video, audio and words, which responds quikely and provides the succinct and comprehensive information.3GPP R5 has introduced IMS domain, which can carry IP multimedia application better. At one time, it has introduced SIP protocol, which is benefit to amalgamate the wide brand application between mobile network and fixed network. IMS is the core network systematic structure of 3G. it achieves the start, maintenance and administration of IP multimedia application with SIP (Session Initiation Protocol). It helps the operators apply multimedia service quikly and efficiently, which is not based on the access mode and terminal equipment type. IMS have the IP multimedia correspondence port to port come true, which is the foremost advantage that IMS gives the users. The traditional multimedia applications use the communication mode from person to content or from person to server. IMS uses the communication mode from person to person, which is different from the traditional mode. Therefore, many new applications can be carried out based on IMS. IMS can provide many applications, such as emergency call, legal interception, track for vicious call, global text, multimedia session, current service, on-line message, and so on, besides basic multimedia (video, audio and text) application.Now, the core network of 3G is running to IP, and mobile multimedia application has become one of the key applications of 3G. IMS starts brand-new mode of telcom business as a important technology which can amalgamate the networks. It can extend the market of information industry. It brings innovative network technology and syncritic network applications, so its future is very wide.SIP protocol, a signal protocol in the application layer, can be used to establish, modify, end up the session and multimedia meeting which the two parties or more attend. The SIP request, which is used to establish session, includes some describing session information which is used to negotiate the parameter of session. SIP sents the request to the current position of the user with proxy server, verifies and authorizes some service of user. Meanwhile, SIP provides registration function that the user can register the current position to proxy server for the using of proxy server.The dissertation based on learning correlative technologies enough elaborates the Tourist Self-help System, and makes it come true. It makes anticipative success according to the software test result.The Tourist Self-help System provides three kinds of functions, including auto scene introducing, ordered scene introducing and connectible guide. Thereinto, in the part of auto scene introducing, the user orders service by the way of web before going on a journey, the server receives the order request and logs it, when the user reaches the some scene in the service district, the server will sent inquiry, then, when the server receives the affirmance information from the user, it will sent the introducing information of corresponding scene. In the part of ordered scene introducing, the user sents call to server actively, and the service is swithed on, if the user operates correspondingly according the voice prompt, he will receive the scene introducing information from the server. In the part of connectible guide, if the user have especial requirement, he can communicate with the online guide after he sents the requirement of call actively, which is convenient that the user consultes to the guide. The users have two ways of ending the service. The first is that the service is automatically end. In this way, the users make sure how long the service will last when they order the service. As soon as the time limit of the service reaches, the server sents to the users a message to remind the user that the service will end. The second is that the users end the service actively. The users can end the service on web.The Tourist Self-help System has four function entities, including travelProxy server, registar server, travel server and webOperation. Those four function entities embody:travelProxy server: it is the connect network proxy of UA, all messages, of which initiation or destination is UA, must pass travelProxy. It provides the function of messages transfer. All of UAs which have access The Tourist Self-help System need configure their traveProxy address in the terminal.Registar server: it receives the registration requirement which traveProxy thransmits, and write the registration requirement information to database. Its main function is registration. All of the users who use The Tourist Self-help System must register into registrar server.Travel server: it is the core of The Tourist Self-help System. It interacts with database and multimedia server, so it can realize the application logic and provide the scene introducing service for users.webOperation: it is work for the ordering users. The users, who want to use The Tourist Self-help System, need order the service in this part in advance. Meanwhile, this part provides the modification and ending the ordered service.After this system is tested, its functions meet the requirement of design, and it has reached the anticipative result. The success of the system can be good to the study on multimedia service based on IMS network.
