In this paper, an 8-bit Microcontroller is designed and implemented which is built by researching the system structure and the system scheduling and the instruction set of the 8051 series. This microcontroller's instruction set is compatible with that of INTERL 8051 series, moreover, the great mass of instruction will be fulfilled within one period in order to improving the system performance.All the modules are described by the verilog HDL language in the ISE, and every module is realized by the TOP-DOWN method base on the digital design. For example PC,ALU, ROM, RAM, TIMER, INTERRUPT, UART and DECODER. Further, all the modules are integrated. This system is simulated by the modelsim in order to validate it. Finally, its layout is optimized on the FPGA device so that its performance is accorded with the need.
