Nowadays, some systems need higher-speed and more large scale signal processing capability. So the traditional systems which only have one DSP chip don't meet this need. Developing the parallel DSP modules, using powerful extended capability of parallel modules and building the real-time signal processing systems with the capability of very high-speed floating-point operation are required. So the trend of signal processing is the large parallel signal processing system with real-time, high precision and large data throughput.With above requirements, we have developed a platform of high-speed general signal processing with multi-DSP. This platform is mainly composed of two TS101 chips, two specific digital signal processor GA3816 chips and two Virtex-4 FPGA chips. These chips are mainly used as data processing module and logic control module in the platform. By FPGA chips configuring the GA3816 dynamically, we can get some common algorithmic operations. Furthermore, we can get other complex algorithmic operations by programming the DSP and FPGA chips. We used the LVDS (Low Voltage Differential Signaling) technology in data transmission between FPGA to FPGA and FPGA to external system. So it can steadily transfer data at a high speed.Debugging the platform shows it has the abilities of real-time, general processing; and can be enlarged and programmed. So it can be applied to the field of real-time signal processing widely. By this platform, we have a good foundation for the research and design of high-speed and real-time signal processing system later.
