Because of limitations of digital technology, many algorithms of DSP (Digital Signal Processing) have been implemented by ASIC (Application Specific Integrated Circuit) before, which results in bad flexibility. That means different communication standard and modulation system need different communication devices, thus it is uneconomical for modern communication system. As the concept of Software Radios proposed, ideas are offered for building general DSP platform, and then possibility of implementing these ideas is appearing while FPGA and DSP technologies are being developed continuously. In this paper, the design for general DSP test platform based on personal computer platform and FPGA technology, which can fulfill FFT algorithm and digital filtering, is discussed. And the design and test of partial modules are completed. The primary work in the dissertation:The design for Object-oriented interface is completed, by which data can be produced, displayed, and sent to USB, and processed date from USB can also be accepted and displayed.The design for USB interface board is achieved, as well as the design for original code of USB driver.The design for general DSP platform based on FPGA technology is accomplished, and the corresponding FPGA simulations of FFT algorithm and digital filtering are carried out.
