This thesis introduces a temperature on-line monitoring system based on a sort of the transmitted intensity-modulating optical fiber sensor which can be used in the military storehouses. Due to using the optical fiber as substrate, the system has many merits, such as anti-electromagnetic disturbance, electric insulation, and explosion-proof. Moreover, it is small in volume and light in weight. In the first part of the thesis, the characters, applications, and researches of the optical fiber sensors are introduced. The background and significance of the transmitted intensity-modulating optical fiber temperature sensor on-line monitoring system are discussed and the content arrangement of the thesis is given. In chapter 2 the optical light path design of the transmitted intensity-modulating optical fiber temperature sensor is discussed. Because of the demerits of the traditional transmitted intensity-modulating temperature sensors based on the bimetallic including the limited diction range, poor precision, low sensitivity and high cost, a novel temperature sensor structure is provided the parameters and performance in which is described in detail. In chapter 3 the electric circuits and the software design used in the temperature monitoring system is given out, in which the functions and characters of all components are delineated too.In chapter 4 the experimental results of the designed temperature monitoring system is presented. The design structure is proved reasonable according the results. Finally, the general work completed in the thesis is reviewed in which the questions exited in the research is pointed out and the future work in necessary is provided.
