The sensing of temperature and refractive index has a very important contribution to the national economy and people’s livelihood. It can be used in medicine, biochemical field and so on. With resistance to electromagnetic interference, high sensitivity easy to cascade and so on. the fiber sensor is used widely in the world. This paper explores the production technology of the sensor, studys the response of temperature and refractive index, takes a study of distinguish measurement and multiplexing technology. The main work includes:1 Make a detailed introduce of the production technology of the sensors. Mainly introduce four methods to make the optical coupler, such as fiber taper, fiber bubble, fiber dislocation point and fiber core mismatch point. The fiber taper is made by increasing or decreasing the advance amount, melting time and so on; The fiber-optic bubble is made by the method of corrosion; The fiber dislocation point is made by changing the amount of dislocation; The fiber core mismatch point is made by adjusting the welding parameters.2 By optimizing the welding parameters, replacing the fiber material, and other methods we manufacture a high sensitivity temperature sensor based on Michelson with waist-enlarged fiber bitaper. The sensor has improved the temperature response sensitivity to 0.140 nm/°C.3 By optimizing the structure of the optical fiber sensor, etching and other methods a hish-sensitivity refractive sensor is manufactured. A single-multi-single optical fiber MachZehnder(M-Z) sensor is used in the refractive index response experiment. The sensor owns a high-sensitivity of 786.207nm/RIU.4 The discriminating measurement and multiplexing technology are analyzed by the experiment study. Through establishing a sensitivity matrix equation, the discriminating measurement is implemented. The multiplexing technology is also analyzed.
