As yet, the development of mobile communication has gone through two generations, first which named analog cell mobile communication system, second which named digital cell mobile communication system. Nowadays it has evolved to be 2.5G and 3G. It has been involved in our life every aspect. Now, the number of user of mobile communicaiton has exceeded the one of fix set. The mobile communication has been the most useful telecommunication way. WCDMA as the outstanding one of 3G has the rapid developing speed. This dissertation has researched the WCDMA protocols on the occasion of the development of 3G.The protocols of mobile communication is different from the TCP/IP protocols, the former is absolutely secret, while the latter is open. So it is an explorative try to implement WCDMA protocols, and it has great significance.This dissertation firstly describes the background of WCDMA, the development of our country and the overseas country, the framework of the WCDMA protocols. Secondly it describes the embedded operation system and development environment, mainly describes the development methods of Windows CE and stands out the management of memory. Thirdly it describes the WCDMA protocols, mainly the procedures and states of MM and CM layer. It helps to comprehend the implementation of the protocols.As the achievement of this dissertation, it has researched the implementation and testing of the WCDMA protocols, mainly the MM, CM layer, and the timer. It describes the design blue print, primative format, primative transfer method, protocol architecture, and the testing method by the development environment--Platform Builder.This dissertation has provided many methods which can help to development WCDMA and other similar protocols.
