Eye is the window to the world for human being through which the information we can get from outside is about 70%. If for some reason the visual function of some one is lost, this would be suffering so much to the patient physically and psychologically. Especially for the reason of Retinitis Pigmentosa (RP), Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD) and Trauma, there is no effective therapy till now. Visual prosthesis might be the only way to give these people the ability to recognize common objects, navigate, and function in the home by applying electrical charges to different components in the visual pathway to elicit the perception of light. Depending on different parts stimulated in visual prosthesis, there are Retinal Visual Prosthesis, Optical Nerve Prosthesis, Intracortical Visual Prosthesis.
