Design And Study Of Network Management Probe Based On Network Processor

Network Management System plays a significant role in today's Internet with increasing growth in network speed and complicated network infrastructure. As the basis of network management, network traffic monitoring for large scale network meets the bottleneck of low processing ability.Distributed network management mode meets the requirement of complicated infrastructure network for the feature of scalability, less complexity and reducing network management traffic. According to the requirement of network traffic monitoring, a distributed network management probe based on network processor is designed to monitor the traffic in backbone network.Intel?IXP2350 is used as the platform of network management probe which analyzes network traffic flows with Cisco NetFlow technology. The system, which is developed by using Intel?C Compiler autopartitioning mode, has the ability to handle 2Gbps Ethernet traffic monitoring, proven in laboratory testing.
