An ultraviolet detecting system,which is based on photodetection, photoelectric conversion, signal processing circuit and integrated many technologies,is presented in this thesis.On the base of analyzing the development status and trend of the ultraviolet detecting technology, a novel ultraviolet detecting system uses wide bandgap ultraviolet photodetector, Atmel 8 bit MCU and high performance integrated circuit chips is presented in this thesis. This system is a measure of the solar UV radiation level at the Earth's surface and an indicator of the potential for skin damage. According to the WHO standards, the basic theory of ultraviolet photodetector, and the characteristic of circuits, a new algorithm which is used to calculate solar ultraviolet index is proposed and validated in the thesis. After discussing the noise generate mechanism of the ultraviolet photodetector and signal process circuits, a high precision, low noise photoelectric conversion circuit is designed.In system software part design, the fault-tolerant technique, temperature compensation and digital filter are also adopted, so that the accuracy of measurement is increased greatly and the noise is suppressed.Portable and SOC design methods are also discussed in this thesis.The development of this item will be beneficial to improving the ultraviolet detecting technology of our country.
