This paper reported the study of laser diode end pumped Nd:YAG laser.Firstly, we introduce the history of the progress of LD pump high power laser and give a brief introduction of the present state of study and application. In the second chapter, we introduce the laser diode pumped laser crystal and the propertied Nd:YAG laser crystal. In the third chapter, we present the working principle of laser diode end pumped Nd:YAG laser and give an analyze mathematically on the condition of single-wave operation at 1319nm. We draw a figure which describes the relation between the output mirror transmission at 1319-nm wave and the one at 1338 nm when laser operating single-wavelengthly at 1319-nm. Under this theory, we introduce the experiment on the LD end-pump cw Nd:YAG producing 1319nm single-wavelength operation. Finally, we give an introduction of the study of the LD end-pump Nd:YAG 946nm single-wavelength laser. The innovation pointsL1. This is the first time world widely depressing the oscillation at 1338nm by selective coating on the output mirror, in order to realizing 1319nm single wave length operation. Before that, it is considered difficulty to do this to depressing one wave from the other when the wavelength of the two are too close.2. The output of the LD end-pump cw Nd:YAG 1319nm single-wavelength laser is the highest of the world. Most of the report are on the study of side-pump laser. But the end-pumped one is much better in some aspects. For example, smaller, lighter, more reliable, and higher pumping efficiency.3. We give an analyze mathematically on the coating transmission. Because 1338 and 1319 nm wave are too close to depress one from the other by coating, mathematical analyze has never be seen in reports.
