As economic integration and globalization quickens, the mode of enterprise operation keeps changing. With the application of electronic technology, computerized information storing and processing technology and communication network technology, logistics plays a more and more important role in enterprise competition. The warehousing of materials is a key link in the whole process of material circulation because the warehouse, as a transit depot, is the center for material circulation. With more and more materials to be circulated, the volume of storage increases and the materials enter and leave the warehouse at a fast-rising frequency. Therefore, how to efficiently manage and utilize the warehouse by standardizing its operation becomes an urgent problem that an enterprise has to face. This paper has as its background Longwen Company's construction of computerized general information management. The author, through years of work experience and nearly two years of thorough investigation and research, initiated a Warehousing Management System project. After studying the technological issues involved in the development of the system, we have completed the analysis and design of the system and its partial realization, changing the backward mode of manual warehousing management and hence quickening the construction of the company's computerized information management.Based on a thorough study and comparison of the current MIS system technology and related technology, we select a software system structure which combines C/S and B/S, and, with the large-scale relation database"MS SQL Server 2000"as the background database and"Borland Delphi 6.0"(assisted by Java technology) as the development environment, utilize the tool UML in the analysis and design of the warehousing information management system, advancing the design principles and overall framework of the system construction, making a detailed analysis of the system's business process, designing its functions in an integrated way, describing the mode of realization of the function of each module, and finally giving partial realization interfaces and making a special effort to tackle the technological problem of data update. The system designed in this paper is capable of efficiently managing and utilizing the warehouse and standardizing its operation in a network environment. It is of...
