BOM(Bill of Material) is one of the research hotspot in ERP system. As the core data in the system, it is not only the information hinge of the CAD and CAM, but also the foundation of the product and material control. It is important in enterprise management. Nowadays, under the circumstance of the product customization aiming at the customers, the enterprises need to design and develop the new products to meet the needs of the customers, which leads the dynamic change of BOM, and also leads the complexity of BOM and it's management. As a result, it becomes more important to design and develop BOM structure.Some research and developing work about BOM, which is on the base of the research work all over the world is done in this dissertation.First, the structure, theory, traversal algorithm, designing and optimization of the table, which are the base elements of BOM are discussed in this dissertation, and some of the application examples of BOM in the enterprises are summarized.Then, the report-oriented BOM model is bring forward. By using this idea, we have designed and developed the report forms management in an electric company, and got the satisfying result.Also, for the sake of configuring different charge models to summarize the needed charge items, the charge-oriented BOM model is bring forward, which improved the efficiency and agility of the charge management. By using the idea of BOM and the tactics of"virtual component", we have designed and developed the charge module of a shops management system.Finally, the design method of configuring BOM structure is bring forward in the interest of customization, Here, we discussed the process of configuring the product, and configured a electric equipment by using a testing system.
