Network has being developed at a high speed, since it entered into our country in the late 90s. Until to now, it spread all over our country like capillaries. It should be said that the Internet has brought a profound social change, a comprehensive reform of management means, living and production, and promoted the development of our society greatly. However, network management has not kept pace with the pace of network development. As one of the most important technologies, network management has a significant impact on the development of the network. It can make the use of the resources of the network more efficient, and it can give a timely reports and dealing when the network encounters a failure, and to coordinate and maintain network to run efficiently. General speaking, a self-contained network management system can be divided into the following five categories in functionality:(1) Fault Management: detect, locate and remove the networking hardware and software failures.(2) Configuration Management: monitor and control the state of the Internet, including the state of all equipments and their connections.(3) Accounting Management: measuring the use of resources of all applications for network users and network endpoints, record and log database.(4) Performance Management: help network administrators to monitor the network's running key parameters such as throughput, response time, and the general availability of the network and the network that can improve the performance of where and how to improve.(5) The safety management of network resources and critical information visit: restraint and control. Internet users visited verify the competence and priorities, unauthorized users trying to detect and record the unnecessary operation. The purpose of this project is to study a convenient network management, performance and fault analysis system. In the system, JudyArray and Berkeley DB have been utilized. They can support rapidly access to massive data. In the first chapter is the current network status and network management position in our country. Chapter 2 is a platform for the development of the system and environment. Chapter 3 presents the analysis of the system's needs. The fourth chapter describes the massive data storage and access features and DOS attacks. Chapter 5 on the system design focuses on the SNMP, NetFlow data acquisition. Chapter 6 gives a brief description of the software development Net-SNMP use. Chapter 7 gives the implement of SNMP capture.
