The Research And Realization Of Student Comprehensive Management Information System

With the fast-paced development of higher education in China, we must adopt the management of modernization and informatization accordingly. Since student management is the core of a university's management system, we must enhance its informatization level and forward its development in time.In the light of the situation of present Management Information Systems and the actual requirement of student management which had already existed in different departments and offices of Southwest Jiaotong University-Emei, we established our guidelines of this research,the main points of which are: taking the existed Business Management Information Systems, such as Academic Affairs Management Information System, Student Loan ManagementInformation System,as the basic data sources, aiming at the managing and inquiring of students' comprehensive information, and focusing our research on system integration and data integration.In accordance with the guidelines mentioned above, we, on the basis of a thorough analysis on all the currently-used Business Management Information Systems, deeply analyzed the function requirement, data requirement of a Student Comprehensive Management Information System(SCMIS), and its relation to other Business Management Information Systems.Then, we made the following efforts.Firstly, we built a system integration model, accurately described the relation between SCMIS and other Business Management Information Systems, and made clear what information we need and from where we can get it. By doing so, the needs for comprehensive information could be satisfied. Secondly, we built a system function model, accurately described the function requirement of SCMIS and represented system function model by UML through use case model, class and object model. Thirdly, we set up a system data model,elaborated on some attributes like data integration, data comprehensive, data source and data store. Fourthly, we set up a system distributed model and a system deployment model. When doing so, we took factors such as the character of user roles and system security into account, which embodied the principle of people-orientation.
