Behavior Modeling Of Virtual Tourism Environment

While PC hardwares and Internet technology are updating with each passing day, 3D website gradually becomes popular and hot in web development. VRML (Virtual Reality Markup Language) is a 3D ISO file format and paid more and more attentions. VRML enables those web developers to construct a virtual environment on Internet easily. It has been proved to be an ideal networked VR toolkit.Different with HTML, VRML provides powerful 3D modeling, animation and interaction functions on Internet. It is an extension of HTML, which integrates 2D objects, 3D objects, sound and text. Java is a high-performed programming language with cross-platform, flexibility and powerful computing capability.This thesis discussed behavior modeling and communication scheme of virtual avatars in virtual tourism system. By considering characteristics of platform-independence of VRML and cross-platform of Java Applet, JavaScript, Java Applet and VRML are combined together to realize modeling virtual avatars and their chatting communication. Our technique route is (i) to write the action script; (ii) to implement complicated geometric computing by using the Script nodes provided by VRML.
