Digital Elevation Models System Researching And Implement

Visualization of Digital Elevation Models (DEM), as a branch of the Computer Graph, with the wide application of GIS in many fields, has attracted people pays more and more attention to it.Theory and algorithm of generating TIN by contour line are discussed in this article. The main contents of this article include the discretelize of contour line; generate TIN by discrete points; represent digital elevation models in 3D mode. The main researches focus on the algorithm of generating TIN by discrete points and how to vivid represent digital terrain in 3D mode. And a new algorithm of building TIN is introduced in this article.In addition, an application based on the theory and algorithm discussed in this article is implemented on Java platform. The main modules include building TIN, represent TIN and analysis base on TIN.
