The Design And Implementation Of Educational Metropolitan Area Networks

The educational metropolitan area networks(EMAN) construction project of Xi'ning city is a sub-project of the campus computer network construction project of western university. It is a key project for Qinghai Province education information construction. The project includes network transmission framework construction, network security and management framework construction, network resource framework construction, etc.In this thesis the design and implementation of EMAN in Xi'ning is pressed. The major work includes Backbone Network design, network management design, network security design, network application design, and so on. The primary characteristics of the project are backbone network design based on independent optic fibre resources, technical route based on IP over fiber, clear connection and interconnection design. The network security and management adopted a coalescent principia with concentrate management and distributed management. It thought not only flexible and credibility characteristic of network management, but also network security and protected measure at all levels. The system possess whole system framework. In course of network resource framework construction, a EMAN network resource platform based on SAN technology has been established according to the actual demands of inserted units including service of the domain name , DNS service, Web service , E-mail service and service of the database .As the principal of the project, the author directly participated in the project uncluding system requiremsent investigation, systems analysis, systems solutions design and project implementation and so on.The project provides a high-speed network infrastructure for more than 30 network crunode including four unversities in Xining, five junior colleges, some famous high schools, educational administrative organs in Qinghai Province and Xining city, province government, province project division, province library, technological building in Xining city ,etc. The project obtains benefits of both economic and social.
