Pseudo-environment Theory was an important theoretical discovery while human-beings came into the Age of Mass communication. The paper attempts to briefly study its developing veins and representative thoughts after Pseudo-environment Theory put forward. Compared to traditional theories, the thesis re-defines the subject roles of audiences on the explanations for Pseudo-environment.Compared to traditional way in mass communication, the technical characteristics of network media provide unprecedented probabilities for the communication practice of this sphere. Its significance lies in not only the improvement of the methods, which audiences build Pseudo-environment; but also speeding up the audiences understanding information's methods and diversification of choices. What's more, the predominant role of audiences on reading out network mass communication is advancing greatly, and with the help of the communicators' technical methods and roles' transformation, it participated in the building of new Pseudo-environment. This is almost unrealizable for the audiences of the traditional mass communication.The paper's focuses are: analyzing the new building characteristics of Pseudo-environment under network mass communication context, putting forward Pseudo-environment under network communication context is a kind of weak gate-keeping one, and emphasizing the problem of Pseudo-environment complication and audiences' Alienation. It concludes the new concepts of Pseudo-obstacle and Cavity, describing the new characteristics of network communication Pseudo-environment.The paper stresses the research on practical significance. It attempts to make a proposal for positive building of network Pseudo-environment, to put it in another way, to control communicator society and promote the media accomplishments of audiences.
