The goal of this paper is to establish a Collaborative Product Developing Environment (CPDE) which integrates multiple distributed systems for the entire product development process. In a manufacturing enterprise, there are many information systems, such as CAD, CAE, CAPP, CAM, PDM and ERP, to support the product development activities from concept design and function design to marketing. In today's global agile manufacturing mode, to construct CPDE by integrating application systems is very important for manufacturing enterprises so that they can respond rapidly to the changing market. The paper introduced different information systems supporting design, development and manufacturing activities firstly. The characteristics and functions of these systems are discussed. Different methods to integrate enterprise applications are also researched. The architecture of web service, it's core standards and how it can be applied to integrate applications are analyzed in detail.Basing on researches of various information integration technologies, the paper proposed a system structure of CPDE based on web services. In the structure, an integrated enterprise model was established by adopting advanced integrated modeling method and facilities. The policies for model mapping and conversion among multiple systems were also provided. The related web service interfaces were discussed. Moreover, after analyzing the general workflow of collaborative product development, the paper constructed a new model for the Collaborative Developing Project Management (CDPM) based on related constraints. Finally, the practical application of CPDE in Wuxi Hongda company was introduced. The good results have been obtained in shortening the product...
