Frequency control technique is comparatively of low starting characteristics, high operating efficiencies, and good running performances. As a high and new energy-saving technology, it has been applied to all technical sections of economic domain in recent years. The extruders that widely used in food machinery have been reconstructed by frequency conversion, for the sake of reducing electric energy and raising productivities. However, with more and newer appearances of reconstructed extruders, the parameter measurement system for extruders improving and studying is still at its primitive stage. Using the system, the parameters are tested by discrete specialized meters. By this means, measurements cannot be read uniformly, which makes parameters reading, recording and calculating easily involved with personal errors. Meanwhile, the increase in dispersiveness of measurement data leads to the reducing of precision in measurement results. Aiming against this limitation, an intelligent instrument that adapts to parameter measurements of those reconstructed extruders is developed. It behaves as a data provider for further analyses and studies of the extruders.Technologies of electronics and computer have been developing rapidly for the present time, accompanied with the emergence of various physical quantity measuring apparatuses that are highly integrated, automated and multi-functional. Therefore, it becomes necessary for developments of science and technology to make researches on modernized complex measuring apparatuses of high integration, automation and multi-functions. In the paper, the chip P89C51RD is selected as the core of controlling. The extruder's voltage, electric current, active power, rotational speed, working-hours, currently consumed quantity of electricity, and cumulative loss electric energy are measured using high-speed AC signals sampling sensors. The torque of transmission devices are indirectly estimated by measuring the power and the rotational speed and applying the electric power measurement. All the measured data collected are uploaded to its master machine for data analysis through the communication mode of RS-232. Given the complexity of variable frequency equipments'work environment, anti-interference design of software is adopted based on hardware interference guard design. Specifically, digitized software correction is utilized for separately correcting each parameter of the measured data in order to keep from mutual interferences. On the basis of simplifying hardware circuitry, accuracy of the overall system is efficiently improved by the applying this design.Model machines have been used onto frequency control extruders since June, 2005. The model machine proves most popular with users, by test data comparisons between the model machine and the original on-the-spot standard meter. It meets the demands of measurement...
