Laser-diode (LD) pumped solid-state lasers have become a focus in the field of lasers due to their advantages of high efficiency, compactness, high stability, long lifetime and all solid-state construction. They are widely used in many fields, such as military, industry, medical treatment and science research. This dissertation has made some theoretical and experimental study around LD end-pumped Nd:YVO4/KTP intracavity frequency doubled laser. The main contents are as follows.1. We review the history and development of LD pumped solid-state lasers (DPSL), its main advantages compared with diode lasers and solid lasers, and introduce various laser materials used in DPSL.
