The thesis focuses on the behavior of mass media in corporate crises. From the angles of communication and mass media's management, it analyzes the functions and the behavioral characteristics of mass media in corporate crises, and then explores the problems in the existing behavior through the typical case studies. Based on those, it points out that these problems under the very condition indicate something much more crucial behind them, that is, mass media urgently need to be much more skilled in managing and improve their staffs' professional accomplishment. Then it summarizes the experience of managing in American journalism which we can use for references, and thus endeavors to give some constructive advice on media ecology, advertising management, human resource management, media literacy education and so on. Hopefully, this thesis will be able to assist mass media with reporting on corporate crises and managing.
