Giving a broad overview of the communication market, it is expanding and new technologies are rushing. Basic voice communication can never satisfy users' requirements any more. Radio data communication applications are imperative under the situation. Different kinds of Mobile Add-value Service emerge as the times require. Thereinto, handset-game developed from character game and embedded game to downloadable stand-alone game and network game. Now, handset-game is mature increasingly. The market for it is expansive and the technical difficulties are vanishing. Handset-game is a piece of delicious cake in the communication market.Today, there are some mobile phone operation systems in which Qualcomm's BREW and Sun's J2ME are two leaders. They both have their predominance and shortage. For using of C/C++, BREW has good speed and saves memories. Yet it belongs to Qualcomm and has a bad currency. On the contrary, J2ME is an open operation platform and has good portability. But speed is a problem which should be taken in consideration.The first things in this article provide the general situation of Add-Value Service. Then, beginning from the concept of BREW platform, several parts are anatomized, including the system structure of BREW platform, BREW SDK and primary interfaces. A material example is following and handsets game engine based on BREW is introduced. The article analyses the developing flow step by step and aims for actualizing applications which are fit for those limited-memory and low-speed handsets. BREW network programming is narrated, too. Finally, the handset email client system is introduced.
