Performance Test And Analysis Of Database For Color Ring Back Tone Service

The color ring back tone (CRBT) service is a new telecom service in recent years, and it has been widely used in the market. Two solutions can implement CRBT service. One solutions is based on the alteration of switch and the other is based on IN. CRBT service stores user data and configuration data in the large relational database system and needs access data in real-time and effectively. It requires database to provide high performance. Because database access cost accounts for a great part in the whole system, the database performance has an important influence in the CRBT system performance. As the CRBT system scale increases, data amount in the database increases. It requires database to provide higher throughput and lower delay and the central database structure evolves into distributed database structure. Database access speed becomes the performance bottleneck of the whole system. Therefore, it's significant to do performance test and analysis on database.There are standard performance test methods in database area. However, there is not database test method about CRBT service. This paper designs and implements the database performance test program for CRBT service, and it uses data in practical database of CRBT service. The test program can do stress test on database. It can also simulate poisson procedure to do controllable TPS test on database. The test program calculates performance parameters like throughput, delay, system overload, etc. The database performance relates to hardware platform, database configuration and application configuration. We test and analyze the database performance in CRBT service on the above three factors.
