Research Of Application And Strategy Of Database Performance Tuning Based On MS SQL SERVER

Database performance problem determines the applicability of database. For some database application systems, the performance problem will come into being through a period of running. The problem maybe relates to the areas of database hardware, database server, application and network etc. Therefore, performance tuning based on database system is very important to the system running normally.Database performance tuning is a complicated task concerning many ways. Through overall layout and system analysis we can use some tuning methods to improve .stability and applicability of database. Performance tuning can ensure database system running high-efficiently, remove bottlenecks and save system recourses. So Performance tuning has high value in application and theory, also brings forward one practice measure for research of database system.For these reasons, author makes a lot of analysis and experiment of performance tuning including database server, SQL sentence, stored procedures etc. Then some operative means and idea of performance tuning were put forward. All works were finished in one Management Information Systems (MIS) project of a Design Institute. And the project has achieved good effect.Database performance tuning problem is researched in the paper. First, the research and development of database performance tuning and study value of this thesis are introduced in exordium. Second, the basic research frame of database performance tuning, including conception, aim, strategy and approach are introduced. Furthermore, the information of the above project, the main research technology and performance tuning technique based on SQL Server are put forward. Andsome practical tuning measures based on database of MS SQL Server 2000 are introduced in next Chapter of paper. The practical tuning measures of MS SQL Server 2000 include performance tuning of database server and parameter setting. Here, the means of performance tuning about database server are introduced and another method of performance tuning about SQL sentence optimization and stored procedures is researched. Finally, high_ performance backup and resume of MS SQL Server 2000 based on B/S are brought forth. The normal mode of performance tuning strategy and optimization of database systems will be gained in the research.
