The infrastructure for enterprise informatization will certainly be Internet, and XML has been a factual standard for data representation under Internet environment. However, in enterprises, most data is still stored in traditional RDB (Relational Database). How to integrate XML and RDB to realize the reciprocal data accessing and exchange, to implement data exchange and information sharing among enterprises conveniently, has become one of pivotal problems to be resolved immediately. Aimed at this problem, combining those current information sharing technologies, this paper puts forward a data exchange model based on XML and its interrelated standard, and researches the key components and core problems in this model in detail. The main research issues and achievements in this paper include 3 aspects as follows:1. After analyzing the traditional information sharing technologies and the representative framework of information exchange system, this paper puts forward a data exchange model based on XML, and expounds its architecture, work mechanism and key components in detail.2. Research and improve a RDB to XML conversion algorithm based on schema mapping. According to the algorithm, we realize partial semantic constraints-preserved conversion from relational data to XML data. Additionally, combining the model given in this paper, a method of conversing XML data to relational data based on the mapping template is put forward.3. Based on the JMS architecture, this paper develops a strategy to extend the existing JMS functionality and include support for XML-message, then uses the strategy to implement an XML-aware JMS engine called X-JMS. Depending on X-JMS, the client application can not only identify and edit the XML-message, but also sign and encrypt it conveniently.
