In order to solve the calculation quantity oversized question of the optimization design in the actual project, the author has designed a distributed optimization design computing system by combining the distributed object technology of the computer science, which can shorten the design cycle, reduce the calculation cost, and make use of the existing computation resources.The distributed structural optimization computing system has been designed and developed on the basis of the distributed computation, the distributed object technology, the computer network, the finite element analysis method, the structural optimization algorithm and other correlation subject researches. At present the structural optimization design is usually completed on a single computer, but the computation ability of single computer is limited after all. As a result, the system the author has developed distributes an optimum design task to the multi-computers in the local network, thus it enhanced the computation speed greatly and used the existing computation resources fully. Through this system, the user can regard this multi-computer of network as a super computer which has many CPUs and many memorizers. The system is responsible for managing each CPU of the"super computer", the assignment of computation task and the data transfers, and these functions are transparent for user at all. The user may only pay attention to the parameter configuring and the final result of the optimization task.This distributed system has been realized based on the DCOM specification, which has been brought forward by Microsoft Corporation, and has been used for supporting communication among the objects located on different computers.The main works in this thesis are done as follow:1. Through research on the current optimum design subject and the distributed object technology in computer domain, the distributed computation has been brought into the optimum design subject.2. The distributed computing system based on DCOM has been developed, and proven to be feasible and effective through several examples.
