| Changchun Central Bureau of postal districts is a secondary nationalcentral bureau. According to the features of production operations ofChangchun Central Bureau, we designed this information system .Changchun Central Bureau of postal districts mainly includes fivefunction departments. they are sorting, transit, files, dispatch, transportation andother related departments. Among them, the sorting and transit department, arethe core sectors for handling the mails. And they closely integrate with theproduction operating system of the Postal District Central Bureau. Files anddispatch departments are the function departments for the management of mailstransportation and production. In this system , the part of business applicationsis the special target of this department.The old production operating systems are only separate computer LANsrespectively built by their own departments , which couldn't share commondata, could not achieve adequate management to control the production, couldnot track mails in the whole course and thru the whole net. The new system isdesigned to overcome these shortcomings.The functions of the new system include five independent subsystems :total bundle subsystem, scattered mails subsystem, file management subsystem ,dispatching subsystem and the national mail data exchange center. Inaddition,as a application software system, generally it is devided intoproduction subsystems, management module, technical module, systemmaintenance module, and the front end processing ." Production operating system of central bureau" Central Bureau LANrequirements are : Central Bureau of Internal appropriate environment asinformation center to focus on the operational data. Various workshops throughLAN, WAN/MAN interconnection with the information center, and ability toreach very high demands. Each workshop has a LAN supportted networkterminal deployment. Files, dispatch systems through LAN, WAN visit to theinformation center. The information centre high-speed interconnects with thenational center via the postal integrated network system.In view of the characteristics of other applications, production operatingsystem of Changchun postal District Central Bureau uses two technologyapproaches : the production operating system based on C/S module and thefiles, dispatch systems based on B/S module. The three-tier C/S structureadopted by the total bundle and scattered mails subsystem includes client side,application servers and database servers. In three-tier C/S structure , used thedatabase ORACLE8.1.7, the communications between application server andclient side are based on the middleware to connect . In this system thetransaction middleware adopted BEA company's TUXEDO products. Theclient-side of three-tier C/S structure is vis the characters interface Unixterminals. In B/S structure, users forward requests to WEB severs via browser,visiting the database and running the applications will be implemented on theserver. The B/S structure is applied on file management and production controlsystems to increase the system's utility and operability. B/S structure and theC/S structure share ORACLE8.1.7 database, Java application server uses BEAWebLogic Server, client-side uses the standard browser interface.Production operation applications system for Changchun central Bureaudivided into sub-services-software architecture and client-software architecture,and the sub-services-software architecture is also divided into four levels:infrastructure of system, database platform, business processing logic layer andapplication services platform.1. System infrastructureSystems infrastructure includes networks, hardware platforms, operatingsystems and it is the basic environmnet for designing system. The productionhost for Changchun Postal District Central Bureau uses the Linux serveroperating systems.2. Database platformUnified database platform uses Oracle database.3. Business processing logic layerBusiness processing logic layer includes a sorting and letter issuingproduction system, the transit production system, and scheduling anddispatching systems, plus files and maintenance management systems. Businessprocessing logic layer is the core software of the entire system, which consistsof a series of services integral to receive data processing requirements, whichafter a series of processing, store the data in the database or return to theapplication interface.4. Application services platformIt uses Tuxedo middleware and Web Server as a communications platformand business management platform. Tuxedo has already been purchased in thepostal network and distributed to the national information centres, provincialinformation centres and 201 postal district information centers.C/S structure of the production system deployed in the three level :1.Central Bureau information center---the deployment of the core databaseservers and application servers run the core processing of system;Connectexternal link system (postal agencies and sub post office) .2.Workshop----deployment workshop server runs the front-end application;connects operating terminals;connecs workshop peripherals (printers, bar codescanning equipment, sorting machines, etc.)3.National centres -----the National Center servers operate Mail dataexchange business applications;manage mail transportation exchange datainformation;achieve distributed applications of the Central Bureau'sapplication server through TUXEDO .About the application and data deployment for files and dispatch, becausethe B/S structure is entirely based on Web technology, it is relatively easier toestablish its system deployment, which includes:1.Information Center----Deployment of the core database server and Javaapplication server, Operating files and dispatch business.2. National postal dispatching and scheduling center----reporting anddownloading the dispatch and schedule information.3. Other central Bureaus----application for searching and checking themail lists.4. Internet users-----internal files and scheduling department's personnelof Central Bureau can start the applications through browser withoutgeographical restrictions. |
